The Sims 2 Tutorial: How to Retrieve Missing Gravestones

You find the perfect time to play your favorite game, The Sims 2. You load up your preferred neighborhood and jump on in to your new favorite household you've been playing for a couple of days now. After loading the lot, you quickly notice the gravestones of your legacy founders ARE MISSING! But, don't worry - I'm here to help!

Note: After you've noticed the graves are missing, DO NOT SAVE! Exit your household without saving and install the No Unlink on Delete (Linked below) before you do ANYTHING.

What You'll Need:

The Sim Blender
FFS Lot Debugger (AKA The BatBox)
No Unlink on Delete -
Game no longer partially destroys sim file on the deletion of a tombstone.

Procedure
For this tutorial, I will be using Brandi Broke in a clean and empty version of Pleasantview. I will be retrieving her mother's grave, Betty Newbie.

Load your lot.

Buy the Sim Blender (Costs 10 Simoleons) and place it anywhere on your lot. It's located in Miscellaneous > Miscellaneous in Buy Mode, and it appears as a Ficus tree.

The Sim Blender (to the left of the TV)
Next, buy the FFS Lot Debugger. The version I linked to you above looks like a vase. It's located in Buy Mode, under
Miscellaneous > Miscellaneous. It costs 1 Simoleon.

FFS Lot Debugger
After you have placed these two items, it's time to retrieve the grave. KEEP YOUR GAME PAUSED. I'll tell you when it's safe to press the play button.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Sim Blender

  2. Navigate on the pie menu until you see the "Teleport..." option

  3. Click "Teleport..." and then click "Enable Summon Menu"
Note: Depending on the number of sims in your 'hood, your game might stop responding for just a short moment.

  4. Click on the Sim Blender, and again, navigate to the "Teleport..." option. This time, select "Summon..." This will give a list of every sim in your 'hood.

  5. Click the "Default..." option. Be VERY CAREFUL when looking through this menu - it contains sims like Mrs. Crumplebottom and Grim Reaper that are not safe to teleport, and doing so will corrupt your game. Use it at your own risk.

  6. Look through the "Default..." menu until you find the name of your sim that's missing a grave.

  7. Once you find the name of the sim, (in my case it's Betty Newbie), click on their name.
  8. The deceased sim will appear next to The Sim Blender. They may look alive, this is normal. Just DO NOT PRESS PLAY.

  9. Open your cheat menu by holding down Ctrl + Shift + C simultaneously. A white box will appear at the top of your screen.
  10. In this menu, type in the following (without quotes): "boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true" and press enter. Cheats are now enabled in your game.
  11. Shift + Click on the deceased sim. A menu will appear with a bunch of different options. Click the "*MAKE SELECTABLE" option. The deceased sim will now appear in the sim controller where all sims in the household are.

  12. Select the deceased sim's portrait.

  13. Now that you are controlling the deceased sim, Shift + Click on the FFS Lot Debugger and select the "Respawn Tombstone" option.

  14. Now you can press the play button! The deceased sim will fade away and a notification will appear letting you know your sim has died on another lot.

  15. A tombstone or urn will appear after the sim fades away, depending on if the sim was teleported indoors or outdoors. Your sims may or may not get the memory of a relative dying. Now your missing grave is back - yay! Repeat these steps if you have several missing gravestones.
