Lot Makeover: Happy Paws (Planetary Pet Store) (NO CC)

General

The Planetary Pet Store is a pre-made community lot that shipped with The Sims 2 Pets Expansion Pack. Its main function was for players to add a pet store to their 'hood. If you're like me, I personally try to use Maxis lots as much as I can, Unfortunately, while I love the idea of the lot, it was terribly executed. This is my attempt on fixing it.

The lot was renamed from Planetary Pet Store to Happy Paws because I wanted something a bit more realistic than a Jetsons utopian pet store.

This lot features:
  • A large selection of pet supplies, including pet bowls & toys
  • A nice backyard to let your pets run wild while you shop
  • Bathtubs to wash your dog, for those who don't have a place to wash their dog at home
  • Two cash registers 
  • A break room
  • An office/computer 
  • A grill with a seating area - sims can hang out and mingle while their pets play together!

Update: Yes, the break room is empty. That is my fault - but, I'm not going to re-upload this just for that. It's simple to plop down a table, counters, microwave, and sink down; it's not rocket science.

This lot is on the market for $81,058. Its size is 40x20 and is zoned as a community lot. It contains NO CC and was renovated in a clean game.

Requires Ultimate Collection or all Expansions & Stuff Packs to use.

There are two versions of this lot, one with a parking lot and one without. The version with a parking lot is sized at 50x20.

Gameplay Tips

For this lot, it seems like Maxis intended for this lot to be an owned business (Requires OFB Expansion Pack), so I intended the same. It will function as a stand-alone community lot, however, Sims will only be able to purchase collars and not any other inventory.

Recommended Mods

To make this lot more realistic, I recommend the following mods: 
Parking Spaces - This mod will generate cars in your parking lots, depending on the time of day and type of lot. This is essential in all of my community lots.
Parking Lot Supplemental Pack - A set of parking blocks, parking signs, and speed bumps. I personally only use the parking blocks.

Object Download: Wndy26's Parking Lot Sign Recolors (SIMLISH!)

I've always put down parking on my community lots. While in the early days, I was CC-free when I made parking lots, now I use as much CC as I can - or until my computer blows up. The user Wndy26 on MTS created a set called "Parking Lot Supplemental Pack" and it included a parking block, speed bumps, and parking lot signs. I fell in love with the set when I first discovered it! However, I hardly ever use the parking lot signs, and only for one reason; they're in English. Now, I don't know about you, but my sims speak Simlish, and not English. While I do tolerate some English writing in my game, because in the real world, people often have posters, shirts, etc, in a foreign language - I didn't tolerate road signs in English.
